About the event

"The Personal Librarian" by Marie Benedict. A remarkable novel about J.P. Morgan’s personal librarian, Belle Da Costa Greene. Based on the true story of Belle who was a black American woman in her 20s who passed as white in order to protect her family and leave an extraordinary legacy. With her impeccable taste and class, she became a fixture in New York Society and was able to curate a magnificent art collection for Morgan.

Wednesday, 6/22, at 7pm — join us for drinks, free snacks, and conversation in the back lounge at The Greats of Craft (corner of 54th/1st). Surprise gifts from sponsors for attendees!

All ages and genders welcome. If you haven’t read the book, still feel free to stop by and introduce yourself!
